Residents are able to enjoy water sports, outdoor adventures and diverse cultural and historical opportunities. In addition to the numerous outdoor activities available to the populace, Milton presents year-round events for family fun. Spring presents the Keyes Art Show and Spring Concert, while summertime events include the Nashua Chamber 4th of July activities at Keyes Field and the Summer Gala along with outdoor movies at Milford's Drive-In Theater. Autumn presents the annual Pumpkin Festival, while winter presents the Jingle on Downtown- Holiday Stroll and the Nashua Chamber Orchestra Winter Concert. EDUCATION The Milford School District is comprised of Jacques Memorial Elementary School, Heron Pond Elementary for grades 2 through 5, Milford Middle School for 6 through 8 and Milford High School & Applied Technology Center for grades 9 through 12. Additionally, the Milford Alternative School, known as the Sage School, provides educational and therapeutic programming for students in grades 6 through 12. ECONOMY & JOB MARKET Home to a number of manufacturing firms, Milford's major employers include Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Hendrix Wire and Cable and Hampshire Paper Corporation. In addition, Milford remains the commercial and retail center for surrounding towns, offering two major shopping plazas, retail centers and auto dealerships. |
